When else are you going to have an opportunity to live a year abroad and have a legitimate job too? This is not just basic English; you’ll be teaching students working towards fluency. You’ll learn the local customs and traditions first hand from your students and colleagues. And on vacations you’ll have time to travel Central Europe and beyond.

Meet Thad
He's a young leader who dedicated a year of his life to service with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hungary through ELCA Young Adults in Global Mission. Now back in the United States, he says he gained more from his Hungarian hosts than he ever imagined.
In the words of Pastor Miriam:
"One of our awesome and articulate YAGM reflects on his time in Hungary. (And I get a little face-time too.) This video helped me remember why we are doing what we are doing."
More about YAGM
"YAGM" stands for the ELCA's Young Adults in Global Mission program through which young adults ages 21-29 serve internationally in the spirit of accompaniment. They're shaped and transformed by the people they meet and the witness of Christians all over the world.
There are YAGM locations in Argentina/Uruguay, Cambodia, Central Europe (Hungary), Jerusalem/West Bank, Madagascar, Mexico, Rwanda, Southern Africa and the United Kingdom. If you're interested in learning more about YAGM, check out the ELCA website.
P.S. a BIC alumn is one of the Coordinators
Starting in 2015 the YAGM coordinator in our part of the world will be former Intern Pastor of BIC, Rachel Eskesen.
